APBP Business Meeting + Keynote: Planning & Implementing Healthy Active Built Environments

The APBP Annual Business Meeting will occur at 8:00 am to be immediately followed by keynote Leslie Meehan:

Planning & Implementing Healthy Active Built Environments:  Exploring the intersection of health, transportation, and the built environment at the local and state levels.

Leslie will present on her past and current work at the Nashville Area Metropolitan Planning Organization and with the Tennessee Department of Health. As Director of Healthy Communities at the Nashville MPO's, Leslie moved the agency to incorporate health policy and analysis into the planning, modeling, and decision making processes. Now, as the Director of the Office of Primary Prevention at the Tennessee Department of Health, she is guiding cross-sector collaboration to drive positive population health outcomes, promoting a "health in all policies approach, " and leading innovative grant programs such as Planners4Health, a collaboration through the American Planning Association (APA) and the American Public Health Association (APHA), and the Rural Access to Health and Healthy Active Built Environments program.
