The Traffic Monitoring Guide: Counting Biking and Walking

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

The 2016 Traffic Monitoring Guide now includes a revised format for submitting bicycle and pedestrian traffic counts to the federal traffic count database: the Travel Monitoring Analysis System. This means that for the first time, any jurisdiction will be able to submit bicycle and pedestrian count data to be stored in the same database where the nation's motor vehicle count data are kept. These motor-vehicle count data have helped determine funding for state DOTs. In the age of performance measures, understanding and submitting data to this database may be critical to future funding decisions. Come learn what the format is, how to use it, and how it can benefit bicycling and walking and walking in your jurisdiction.
